By Tony Sciarrotta, Reverse Logistics Association
RL Magazine and the RLA have reached major milestones this month – this Edition is the 100th of the only publication in the world focused on the growing reverse industry, and the RLA 2.0 website launches for a new and improved experience for our members. As a digital publication, RL Magazine has maintained focus on all aspects of the industry, defined by the RLA as everything that happens after the point of sale of a product. That broad scope has been covered almost every month for over 12 years in RL Magazine with articles about reducing returns, refurbishing and repairing them, reselling them properly in the secondary market, and in some articles finding ways to responsibly recycle products. Many major manufacturers, retailers, and 3rd party solutions providers have been featured on the cover and had articles written by or about them to share best practices and newest ideas that make a difference. Those articles made heroes of RL professionals in many companies who read the RL Magazine regularly and implemented what they learned. One of those professionals is now the Executive Director for the RLA. I learned a lot reading the magazine with so many different ideas, and I was at Philips Consumer Electronics where no reverse logistics practices had been started because they were unknown. RL Magazine helped evangelize the need for new ideas in the industry and is now the standard bearer for the reverse logistics industry around the world.
Over the years, RL Magazine has evolved and now offers regular articles such as the view from academia by collegiate professors in the best supply chain schools who now have more focus on the reverse industry. RL Magazine also spotlights RLA member companies, new and old, with articles about what they have done to address returns and after sale support costs. RL Magazine continues to feature several industry topics on a regular basis to revisit the newest changes and ideas for a particular reverse problem.
Finally, RL Magazine would not be here delivering relevant and important industry information without the efforts of Felecia Przybyla, Media Manager for the RLA. As the RL Magazine Editor, Felecia makes certain that articles in the RL Magazine have value, are not promotional, and that accurate information gets published. RL Magazine has been distributed to over 100,000 RL professionals around the world. Felecia also manages the RLA SmartBrief Newsletter, the RLA LinkedIn group, and other social media outlets. The RLA has been extensively featured in many other news publications as well as internet, TV and radio news outlets around the world. Felecia is one of the stars in the new RLA 2.0 and has been responsible for us to reach the milestone of Edition 100.
