RLA NEWS

By Scott Luton, Supply Chain Now

An exciting collaboration in the supply chain community is coming between Supply Chain Now Radio (SCNR), a rapidly growing multi-platform digital media publisher and the Reverse Logistics Association. SCNR is set to launch a reverse logistics-themed podcast series, which will spotlight this critical, high-growth component of the end-to-end supply chain in the e-commerce era. The partnership is a culmination of a variety of successful projects that Tony Sciarrotta of RLA and Scott Luton, Founder of SCNR, have worked on together.

“Tony and the RLA team are doing big things in our industry. They’ve essentially become the voice of this vital segment of supply chain. RLA provides best practices, networking and professional development for individuals and organizations in the reverse logistics field. And they are a pleasure to collaborate and partner with, which was evident from my first interaction with Tony. We are excited about the path ahead,” says Luton.

With more customers allowed and even encouraged to return products, companies are facing similar problematic situations.

“With free returns now the industry standard in ecommerce, the higher return rates and associated costs will significantly impact the bottom line for many more companies. Therefore, any company not having reverse logistics as a top priority could be set up for failure as those costs show up later for the business unless proactive return strategies are developed,” says Sciarrotta, Executive Director of the Reverse Logistics Association.

The RLA strives to remedy this issue by offering information, research, solutions, and services to the organizations affected by this trend. Supply Chain Now Radio offers a new platform for the RLA to educate and inform supply chain professionals around the world.

The podcast series on Supply Chain Now Radio will begin in August, where Sciarrotta will be featured and interviewed. But it won’t be Tony’s first appearance on SCNR, as he joined UPS’ Jim Brill on the show back in February (listen here via Apple Podcasts). This new series will also include a live, onsite broadcast throughout RLA’s 2020 Conference & Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada in February.

“The reverse logistics field is paramount to the supply chain industry. We are pleased to partner with the proven thought leaders in this space to provide exceptional coverage and content that will help our audience and their supply chain performance,” says Luton.

“The alliance partnership between the RLA and SCNR represents a great opportunity to evangelize with a new media outlet (the broadcast/podcasts) to a larger audience that needs to hear more about reverse logistics and the newest ways to reduce their costs and impact to companies. The RLA is especially excited to promote the live broadcast of the program for the Las Vegas Conference & Expo with RL industry subject matter experts talking direct about this important topic to this new audience,” says Sciarrotta.

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Supply Chain Now Radio has grown rapidly since 2017, with millions of downloads of its popular podcast that covers the end-to-end supply chain industry. Having peaked at #14 on the Apple Podcast Chart for Business Podcasts (U.S.), SCNR was also ranked #1 on Feedspot’s 2019 list of “Supply Chain Management Audio Podcasts & Radio You Must Listen & Subscribe to in 2019”.
