Bio
Pinar leads Global Reverse Supply Chain Planning and Analytics at Amazon, overseeing returns and recovery of Amazon's consumer electronics products. She joined Amazon in 2015 to spearhead the EU transportation network, where she developed large-scale optimization models to facilitate the launch of next-day delivery in the UK. Later, Pinar transitioned to roles in AWS, focusing on the development and launch of software as a service and IoT products such as Amazon Honeycode and Amazon Key. Prior to her tenure at Amazon, Pinar held product management roles in the consumer goods industry, where she successfully launched new-to-world products to market. Throughout her career, Pinar has demonstrated a relentless drive to innovate and optimize, constantly seeking new ways to leverage data, automation, and cross-functional synergies to solve complex problems. Pinar holds a PhD in Business from Bocconi University in Italy and was a visiting scholar at Penn State, where she explored the development of efficient and sustainable closed-loop supply chains. She has further shared her expertise as a visiting lecturer at Cranfield University. Pinar's findings have been widely published in leading academic journals, including Decisions Sciences and Industrial Engineering, and presented at national and international conferences.
