An Ending and a New Beginning
I am proud to say that the Reverse Logistics Association has been the global voice of the returns industry for over 20 years. Reverse Logistics Magazine helped me become more of a subject matter expert in the returns industry when I became the returns director at Philips. I read every issue of RL Magazine from cover to cover. I learned the best practices shared, the success stories, the new ideas and new technologies being employed, and I borrowed many ideas to make a huge reduction in returns at Philips. RL Magazine is coming to an end, but high content for returns and reverse logistics professionals will continue.
In 2016, I took over the RLA to revitalize the Association, focus on member’s needs, and regain the leadership role in our industry. In 2023, the NRF acquired the RLA to provide retailers with strategies to improve customer experience, reduce returns, and to process them more effectively while increasing returns revenue. The future of the Reverse Logistics Association is to now be fully integrated into the National Retail Federation. Our voice will be amplified to more retailers and manufacturers who recognize the importance of returns and are looking for solutions to become more circular with a focus on reverse logistics. More brands are becoming active in the Circular Economy and developing ways to resell returned goods. Reverse logistics is a cornerstone of the Circular Economy, and I am proud of the RLA legacy that is making a difference for people and for our planet.
The rebirth of the Reverse Logistics Association only happened because of support by the community and an incredible team of people who shared the passion to provide the world returns industry information, events, education, and networking opportunities. Thank you for your support of the RLA and stay connected for this next chapter.
