Valerie Holden

Deputy Chief, Performance Management Officer

Bio

As the second most populous county in the US, Cook County’s 2018 budget is $5.3B, with roughly $400M supporting closed-loop supply chains. This includes the supply chain for the country\'s third largest public health delivery network; the country\'s largest single site jail; and a Department of Homeland Security that serves 130 municipalities. In 2016, Valerie was asked to assume the role of Deputy Chief Performance Management Officer, after having successfully served as Director, ERP Center of Excellence where she led the effort to justify the consolidation of (8) standalone ERP systems, followed by the acquisition of a new $60M cloud-based ERP-SCM-managed services contract. Reporting to County’s CFO, she is responsible for the development of an enterprise data analytics program that enables evidenced-based decision making around every aspect of County’s very sizable supply chain investments (i.e. forward logist6uy6uyu6bhbics, reverse logistics, customer service, and revenue). Working closely with the executive teams in each organization, Valerie’s deep knowledge of supply chain management, financial, and procurement operational excellence have made her a trusted advisor on SCM end-to-end data analytic reporting, and aligning supply and value-chain improvement opportunities to support financial goals. Prior to joining County in 2001, Valerie worked as a corporate consultant to leading manufacturing and transportation companies. Her professional affiliations include the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), Reverse Logistics Association (RLA), and Achieving Women’s Excellence in Supply, Operations Management (AWESOME). She holds graduate degrees and certifications from several top-ranked institutions, and she and her daughter Lauren admit to being incurable-cultural-junkies!
